TOE Course Locations

Bristol Royal Infirmary Five day non-residential courses provide an introduction to the use of transoesophageal echocardiography in both theatre and ITU settings by a multidisciplinary faculty. These are predominantly practical hands on in-theatre courses for a maximum of 4 candidates that concentrate on basic image acquisition and interpretation. Castle Hill Hospital The next hands-on TOE course at Castle Hill Hospital will start on the 15th Novemberr 2010 and run for 4 days. It will include all aspects of practical training for the beginner to get started and make intra-operative interpretation. For more advanced practitioners there will be training in 3D TOE. The case-mix will include intensive care patients. A wet-lab will be used to refresh anatomical knowledge. The course includes a social programme and encourages interactive teaching. Training is recognised by ACTA and BSE and forms part of the TOE accreditation process. It is credited for 20 CME points.
